I know I haven't blogged in forever, so here it goes...I GRADUATED!! I still have to take my Board exams on the 27th and 28th, but I am one step closer to being a registered dental hygienist. I was in charge of our graduation pinning ceremony, which is a dinner where we invite our family have a program and receive a pin in congratulations for completing the program. That night was really special for me. My instructors picked me for an award that recognized a student who has "exceptional clinical skills and compassionate patient care" It really meant a lot to me that they would think of me to give me that. Then I received the prestigious, "Golden scaler award" this one they give to the person with the highest clinic grades. When they called my name for that I think everyone was just as shocked as I was, there was a collective gasp haha. After the dinner I just sobbed when I hugged my mom. She has watched me go through this process and always feel average. I don't think that either of us thought I would make it. It was a very emotional night. I am so glad I had amazing support from family. The next day, was the commencement where I got to walk. It was just such a sense of accomplishment. I am just so happy!! And I could NOT have done it without Andrew's support. He is such an amazing guy. I am so lucky to have him forever. The highlight of my weekend had to be after the pinning ceremony after 2 rigerous games of settlers with my family and they had gone to bed Andrew asked me to come on a drive with him. On the drive me just told me how proud he was of me and what I've accomplished. It was an emotional and very meaningful drive. I love him. Needless to say it was one heck of a weekend...BOARDS HERE I COME!
